As the UAE prepares to celebrate its 53rd National Day, also known as Eid Al Etihad, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced adjusted service schedules across its public transport network. Residents and visitors in the city are encouraged to familiarize themselves with these changes to ensure smooth travel during the holiday period.
Complimentary Public Parking
In a gesture to mark the celebrations, the RTA has made all public parking zones free from Monday, December 2, to Tuesday, December 3, 2024. However, multi-storey parking facilities are not included in this waiver.
Temporary Suspension of Key Bus Routes
For those commuting between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, modifications to intercity bus routes are noteworthy:
- E100 Route: Services originating from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station will be temporarily suspended from November 29 to December 3, 2024. Passengers can use the E101 route, which operates from Ibn Battuta Bus Station, as an alternative.
- E102 Route: Similarly, the E102 route from Al Jafiliya Bus Station will not run during this period. Travelers can board the same service from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to reach Mussafah Community.
Adjustments to Service Provider and Customer Happiness Centres
The RTA’s Customer Happiness Centres and vehicle testing service centres will remain closed on December 2 and 3, 2024. Regular operations will resume on Wednesday, December 4, aligning with the typical schedules.
Plan Ahead for Seamless Commuting
Dubai’s Metro, Tram, and marine transport services will operate under revised timings during the National Day celebrations. While the RTA has yet to release specific time adjustments, commuters are advised to stay updated by visiting the RTA’s official channels or using their mobile application.
Celebrate Responsibly
Eid Al Etihad is a time for unity, joy, and celebration across the UAE. With these changes, the RTA aims to facilitate smooth and safe transportation while accommodating the festive spirit. Travelers are encouraged to plan ahead and consider alternate routes where necessary.
